Internship Opportunities

Learn about politics by doing an internship during your undergraduate years to gain valuable experiential learning.

Internships are offered in the fall, spring and summer.  You can create your own internship with the department’s guidance or choose an internship from our database.

The department also offers two different public service fall/spring internships:

  • There is an eight credit/two course equivalent, with four credits towards political science and four credits toward electives. Students work at least 20 hours per week in the public service field and have a required research paper.
  • We also offer an eight credit/one course internship where students are required to work at least an average of 10-12 hours per week for 12 weeks, for a minimum of 120 hours in the field with a reflective research paper.

For the summer semester, internships are four credits.

You can complete up to 12 internship credits.
