Global Merrimack - Study Abroad Opportunities

Study Abroad

Become a Global Citizen

When you study abroad as a Merrimack College student, you’ll expand your skills and gain a better understanding of yourself while enriching your academic experience.

Where You Can Study

Study Abroad in a Global Destination or Study Away in a U.S. Location

Merrimack’s Global Education program  offers study abroad (outside the U.S.) and study away (opportunities in the U.S.). Our study abroad opportunities are designed to provide: a quality academic experience and a seamless credit transfer in a culturally rich and safe environment.

Get Invaluable Life Experience and Self-Confidence

Living in a foreign country will challenge you and put your problem-solving skills to the test. Adjusting to cultural differences can be overwhelming but will help you understand how communication styles, problem solving skills and cultural norms differ from place to place. With each new hurdle you overcome, your confidence and resilience will grow.

Deepen Your Understanding of the World

Technology enables us to interact and conduct business with people all over the globe with a simple click of a button. Still, there’s only so much you can learn about the world until you go out and experience it. Learning abroad will introduce you to new ways of thinking and might even challenge some long-held assumptions.

Develop Appreciation of Cultural Diversity

Learning abroad will broaden your horizons and enhance your ability to communicate with people from different cultures and backgrounds. You will develop intercultural competencies and cross-cultural communication skills, which are highly valued in our increasingly global work environments.

Gain a Global Perspective On Your Field of Study

By studying with faculty and students from around the world, you will gain new knowledge and a global perspective about key issues and opportunities related to your field of study.

Enjoy Networking & Collaboration Opportunities

When you study abroad you’ll have numerous opportunities to collaborate with students and professors from across the globe, both inside and outside the classroom. You will develop enriching friendships during your studies, broaden your professional networks and dramatically expand your career opportunities after you graduate.
