Associated Organizations & Clubs
The Walter E. Maxey award ($500.00) is presented to a junior majoring in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Information Technology. It is awarded to a student of good character and high integrity, demonstrating leadership characteristics, and having a good sense of applied study. The third year student shall be in good academic standing in the award year and progressing satisfactorily toward his/her degree. The recipient shall also have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 both in and out of the major.

Outstanding Achievement Awards in IT and CS
The Outstanding Achievement in IT and Outstanding Achievement in CS awards are each given to the student in the respective major who has demonstrated extraordinary work both inside and outside of the classroom. Awardees must have demonstrated high character, academic achievement, and passion for the department and academic community. Winners will receive a graduation gift and their names will be added to the department’s plaque of awardees.

Merrimack Gaming Club
ACM Programming Contest
Merrimack students have the chance to participate in the annual ACM programming contest. This annual event allows students to match wits with peers at other campuses in the area. In recent years we have competed with students at MIT, Wellesley, Fitchburg State.
