ROVE - Photography Exploration App for iOS
Four Merrimack students developed a photo location sharing app for iOS devices.
About the Project
As part of their directed study, a small team of computer science and graphic design majors worked together to develop a mobile application for iOS. The students aimed to develop a better photo location sharing program to:
- share and tag where a picture was taken
- provide characteristics of the site such as cityscape, architecture and graffiti
The team created ROVE, a photo location sharing app for iOS devices for amateur and professional photographers. Unlike more complex photo destination sharing platforms, ROVE creates a simple user experience accessible on iPhone and Android devices. ROVE users mark and search for locations on a map and add keywords to refine their search. When users upload photos, they can add keywords and share with others. Key features of the app include simplified buttons, locations types, Apple map integration and access to the camera roll.
