Meet Our Team
Responsibilities include: Utilize the 3D printer and corresponding software to produce quality prints, make sure you know which settings to use for different devices and filaments. Collaborate with the 3D Design Team to utilize SolidWorks/Autodesk in order to make specific modifications if needed. Collaborate with the Assembly Team to make sure they know which pieces are which and they can assemble the devices easily.
Responsibilities include: Collaborate with the Fabricating Team as seen above. Know how to size the device carefully with the use of the Handomatic software, or make different measurements with the 3D Design Team. Be able to troubleshoot broken parts and work with the Fabricating Team to repair them. They will also have to resize the devices as the recipient grows and reprint them when necessary.
Responsibilities include: Collaborate with the Fabricating Team and Assembly Team as seen above. Be able to sketch and design objects in SolidWorks/Autodesk for the Research & Development aspect of this project. Research would include knowing the existing designs, finding different materials to print the devices, learning about the newest 3D printing technology, and knowing the different types of physical abnormalities and amputations that we might deal with.
Responsibilities include: Collaborate with the rest of the teams in order to stay up to date with all of the happenings of the group. Will need to manage each social media platform including, but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the website. They will also help manage the planning of informational tables/events that we attend on campus and off. Also will need to communicate with our advisor and any potential corporate sponsor to keep them up to date on happenings and organize press releases.
Responsibilities include: Follow up with and maintain the relationship between the recipient and chapter. Contact the recipient and/or the recipient’s parents to help the recipient adjust to using the device. Design surveys that help to analyze the overall influence that the 3D printed prosthetic device has on the recipient. Collaborate with Melina Brown and the rest of the Matching team to help match other chapters with recipients.
Responsibilities include: Manage the chapter’s finances, including, but not limited to: a fundraising campaign, any purchases we make, and any merchandise sales we have. They will also keep track of the cost of all the materials going into the 3D printed prosthetic devices, and give exact costs of each device that we donate. Finally, they will manage the purchase and planning of gear that represents the chapter.
