Class of 2008
Electrical Engineering Major
T.J. Schorr graduated from Merrimack College in 2008 with a major in electrical engineering and a minor in computer engineering. He came to Merrimack after graduating Rye High School in Rye, NY.
He chose Merrimack College because he came from a small High School and Merrimack College provided the same atmosphere. He also likes the small class size and the ability to get to know the professors. He has been around auto mechanics his entire life and has seen that the industry is becoming more electronic. That, in addition to the fact that he also enjoys dissecting electrical devices, and his fascination with robots, drove him toward electrical engineering. His favorite courses are Digital Fundamentals, Assembly Language, Embedded Microcontrollers, Computer Arch, Data Communications, Data Networking, and Design Project I and II. His education at Merrimack has already helped in his summer job. He works in the family car business and most recently, whenever a vehicle came in with an electrical problem, it became his responsibility. In addition to his studies, he also enjoys building anything and everything, playing catch with his brother, working on cars with family, hanging out at home, and many outdoor activities such as fishing and hiking. TJ intends to design and build robots and stay in the automobile industry.
