Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements

Please review the following pre-requisites for the M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

A Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering or a Bachelor of Technology degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university;

– or –

A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Technology in a different engineering major (i.e. civil engineering, chemical engineering, aeronautics engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering management) with the following required design courses as pre-requisites:

  • Machine Design
  • Dynamics and Vibration
  • Materials Science
  • Heat and Mass Transfer

A bachelor’s degree in a closely related field will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Prerequisite coursework can be taken at any accredited college/university, including Merrimack College. It must be completed with a grade B or better prior to enrolling in graduate classes.
