Orientation Leader Positions for 2016
The Orientation Leader staff is responsible for the welcoming and introduction of accepted students into the Merrimack College Community. These positions are designed to assist new students in their transition to college, illustrate the educational opportunities, integrate new students into college life and prepare them for their first year at Merrimack College.
Orientation Leaders (OLs) work throughout the Spring Semester training for June and Fall Orientation. These leaders spend two weeks on campus in June welcoming an assigned group of incoming students to campus. This is a very hands on position and works one on one with students as well as in small groups.
Orientation Team Member*
Team Members attend trainings in the Spring Semester and prepare to assist with Fall Orientation. Team Members join the OLs in the Fall to assist with move in day and acclimate new students to campus over four days leading up to Academic Convocation. Team Members are paired with OLs to work with groups of 20-30 students over the four day period and make sure all students are feeling welcomed and having their questions answered.
International Orientation Leader*
International Orientation Leaders (IOLs) work with the Office of International Programs to support international students in their transition and integration into the United States and Merrimack College. IOLs not only welcome International students to campus in the Fall but also connect formally or informally at least once a month, and allowing both students to increase cultural awareness and appreciation.
* You may only apply for one of the above positions for Orientation. These positions overlap with one another and do not allow an opportunity for students to serve in multiple roles.
Orientation Leader position applications for 2017 have not yet been posted.
