We are excited to welcome you to Merrimack’s campus for our January Orientation sessions for commuter students! We have a full calendar of activities planned for you and your family.
We have a full schedule of Orientation activities planned for you. You’ll get acclimated to campus, meet your fellow Warriors and have some fun.
Reference the schedule below to guide you through the daily sessions. Check your Merrimack email for additional communication from the Orientation team regarding group numbers and your assigned Orientation Leaders. For the most up-to-date locations, please download CORQ and review the Orientation events. Commuter students should plan to park in Lot C during Orientation days.

9 a.m.-5 p.m. | Decompression Zone - Crowe Lobby Throughout the day, this space is available for students who are feeling overwhelmed to take a break and practice some wellness activities before rejoining the Orientation sessions or groups. |
8:30-10 a.m.
| Student Check In - McQuade Library Students unable to arrive on Monday will check in with Admission and Hamel Health staff, and receive their key to move into residence halls. The Mack Force will be available to answer questions about bills, parking, and mobile credentials. Breakfast with Groups - Sparky’s For those already moved in, enjoy breakfast with Orientation staff before sessions start. |
10-10:15 a.m. | Welcome/Blessing - McQuade Auditorium Students and families will be welcomed by the Orientation team and Fr. Ray Dlugos will lead a blessing for the spring semester. |
10:30-Noon | MC 101: Your Guide to a Great Start - Crowe 207 Students will learn about the Merrimack resources available to all students, then break into groups to hear specific information on the first year, international, and transfer experience. |
Noon-1 p.m.
| Lunch with Lucey Center - Crowe Executive Room Enjoy lunch with the academic and career advisors who will be working with you throughout your Merrimack journey. Compass and Honors will have separate lunches with their cohorts. |
1-3 p.m. | Mission and Merrimack - Crowe 207 Join the Office of Mission and Ministry to hear insight into the values upon which Merrimack was founded as expressed in the Mission and Vision Statement of the College, and the pivotal role that it plays on campus every day. Involvement Panel - Crowe 208 Hear from pro staff and current student leaders about how to get involved and the benefits of becoming a leader on campus. |
3-3:45 p.m. | MCPD/Emergency Preparedness - Crowe 209 Campus safety is a priority at Merrimack. Hear from MCPD about safety protocols and resources available. |
4-5 p.m. | Wings and Things - Student Union Wrap up your Orientation session by bowling with your fellow students! Orientation Leaders will be on hand to answer questions to help get you prepared for classes to start on Wednesday such as textbooks and a tour for class locations. |
5-7 p.m. | Dinner with Groups (optional) - Sparky’s |

4:30-6 p.m. | Welcome BBQ- Sakowich Campus Center Join the Merrimack College community for a Welcome BBQ to kick off Fall Orientation. Following the BBQ, students will say goodbye to their families and begin their Orientation events. |

8:30 p.m. | First Class Bash- Hammel Court, Merrimack Athletic Complex Join fellow classmates for games, giveaways, food, and other fun activities! |

Noon-1:30 p.m. | Commuter Student Lunch - Multipurpose Room, Sakowich Campus Center Commuter students will discuss their experiences living off-campus and opportunities available to all students. We will review meal plans, commuter specific spaces as well as library resources for students. Lunch will be provided. |
1:30-4:30 p.m. | Orientation Olympics The talk of who is the best orientation group comes to an end with the Orientation Olympics. Work with your group to complete challenges and go head to head with the other orientation groups to settle this debate once and for all. |

6 p.m. | Mass Experience how the Merrimack community gives praise and thanks to God. Students of all faiths are welcome. |
7 p.m. | Campus Ministry Ice Cream Social- Gladstone Plaza Enjoy an ice cream social sponsored by Campus Ministry and learn more about what they offer on campus. |
8 p.m. | Movie Night- Rogers Center for the Arts |
