When is Summer Orientation?
Is there a fee to attend Orientation?
Merrimack College Orientation is free to students and their families! Unlike many other institutions, there is no fee to attend any of our Orientation sessions or programs.
Is Orientation mandatory?
The June sessions of Orientation are required for fall 2020 students. The best way for you to prepare for life at Merrimack is to attend the Orientation program!
How do I register for Orientation?
Orientation Registration was live in MackTasks through June 10. You can still register by emailing
email@example.com. Please include in your email which date you can attend. If you need to change your session date, please email this request to the Orientation team.
What if I can’t attend one of the Orientation sessions?
With June Orientation taking place virtually this year, it is easier than ever for you to experience all that Orientation has to offer! Still, if you cannot attend and participate in a virtual Orientation session, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, or give our office a call at 978-837-5508.
If Orientation is online, will I still have the chance to meet other students?
Absolutely! You will be assigned two Orientation Leaders (OLs) who will be your go-to for all things Merrimack during Orientation and throughout your first year on campus. During Orientation, you will meet your OLs along with a group of other new students via live video chats.
How will zoom sessions work for Orientation?
Our live content will be hosted through Zoom, but you do not need to have an account, a webcam, or even a computer to participate. Most sessions should be accessible from your smartphone or other devices. Cameras are not required to participate and if you are unable to use the video component, you will still be able to access the audio. Do commuters have to attend orientation?
Yes! Merrimack College New Student Orientation is for ALL new students for the fall. Orientation is mandatory for incoming students.
What is My Mack in Action and is it mandatory?
My Mack in Action is an opportunity to come to campus, get your Merrimack ID, take a picture in front of the Merrimack mural, speak with offices such as Bursar’s Office, Financial Aid, Accessibility Services, Academic Success Center, Registrar’s Office, Residence Life, Admission and more. This visit will take between 1-2 hours. It is not mandatory. Depending on your level of comfort and availability, please sign up for the date and time that works for you and your family.

What else can I expect this summer?
As the summer progresses we’ll be adding more Orientation opportunities and ways for you to get involved. Keep an eye on on the Office of Student Involvement Instagram account and join the Class of 2024 Facebook group!
Is there a Fall Orientation I should put on my calendar?
Fall Orientation takes place after Move-In Day for new students in late August & early September. Orientation runs throughout the first weekend of the semester, where you’ll reunite with your Orientation Leaders and Summer Orientation group, attend info sessions, and settle into life at Merrimack. We’ll be in touch throughout the summer with more information!
