March 20: Advising, Academic Support and Academic Calendar Changes
Dear Undergraduate Students,
As we continue to navigate through these unprecedented times, we are working hard to continue all of our support services and processes. The College is planning for the reality of remote advising in preparation for registration for Fall 2020 classes.
Remote Advising and Registration
Your advisor will be reaching out to you about how your remote advising will take place. Each school and department does advising in different ways and for the most part, the same process will continue with the exception that it will happen remotely. We have adjusted the dates for the start of registration as follows:
- Monday, April 6: Juniors and non-graduating seniors registration for Fall 2020 (original date was March 26)
- Thursday, April 16: Sophomore registration for Fall 2020 (original date was April 2)
- Tuesday, April 21: Freshman registration for Fall 2020 (original date was April 14)
In the coming days, you will receive messaging from the Office of the Registrar regarding registration, including information about what time you will be eligible to register. In addition to your academic advisor, additional support will be available remotely by your School Office staff, the Registrar Office and the staff in the Academic Success Center. At every point during the registration cycle, multiple campus professionals will be available to assist you.
The list of available fall courses is now available and you will register using MyMack exactly the same way that you have in the past. If you have any initial questions about registration please email the Academic Success Center at ASC@merrimack.edu.
Midterm Grade Due Date
Given the extended Spring break, we have moved the date for submitting midterm grades. Midterm grades are now due from faculty on March 31.
The last date to declare a course pass/fail has been extended to May 7.
(All rules that apply to pass/fail classes remain in place. Faculty are currently considering policy changes that would allow more students to avail themselves of the pass/fail option. More information will be shared in the coming days. For the current pass/fail policies, please consult the undergraduate or graduate catalog or contact your academic adviser.)
The last date to withdraw from a course with a grade of “W” is May 7.
Last Day of Classes
May 7 is now the last date of classes.
Final Exam Dates - Check MyMack for your updated Final Exam Schedule
Reading day will now be Friday, May 8
Final Exams will start on Saturday, May 9
