Position Overview
The Marketing & Sports Management department in the Girard School of Business at Merrimack College is seeking applicants for the position of Adjunct Lecturer for an undergraduate level course titled Sponsorships and Endorsement for Fall 2023 and future semesters. All applicants must be available to teach in person. The course is offered Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 8:00 AM until 9:15 PM. Classes begin Monday, August 28, 2023 with finals ending December 16, 2023.
Position Summary
This is an elective course for all Business majors with concentrations in either sport management or marketing. Building on prior exposure to sponsorship in courses such as Principles of Marketing and/or Sport Marketing, this course intends to provide students with an advanced understanding of the fundamental principles applied to the sponsorship of sport, arts, music/entertainment, and charitable organizations. The course will provide an overview of the process of selecting, developing, activating, and measuring the effectiveness of sponsorships, both from the perspective of the sponsoring brand and sponsored property.

Qualifications:
Interested applicants should hold a master’s degree in business or related area, Ph.D. preferred. College teaching experience is preferred, although related work experience may be considered. Strong verbal/written communication skills are essential. Additionally, the ability to foster an environment that values diversity, equity and inclusion is expected of all Merrimack community members.

The Girard School of Business takes a unique approach to business education including a strong foundation in the liberal arts and Augustinian values.
