Position Overview

Working under the leadership of the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management for First Year Admission, Visitor Services & Events, the Associate Director for Enrollment Management Signature Events will be an integral part of the Visitor Services team at Merrimack College. This team is responsible for managing the daily operations of a 16,000 square foot state-of-the art visitor center, which welcomes first year, transfer, and graduate prospective students to campus. In addition, the Visitor Services team is responsible for creating innovative, dynamic, and exceptional visit experiences, which range from daily information sessions to large-scale signature events.


The Associate Director for Enrollment Management Signature Events will develop Merrimack’s signature event strategy, carry out the planning for these events, and develop metrics to evaluate the success of these events. Signature events include, but are not limited to, events such as our Open Houses, Academic Preview Days, Admitted Student Days, Off-Campus Receptions, and School Counselor Events. This position will directly oversee an Assistant Director of Enrollment Management Signature Events, who will help support this work.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a solid, comprehensive strategy for all Signature Events and Yield Event programming. Serves as the main point of contact.
  • Design, plan, and oversee the execution of all Signature events, to include Open Houses, Admitted Student Days, Counselor events, and Yield Events.
  • Manages internal and external communication strategies as relates to event execution and delivery.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Tracks and meets/surpasses goals associated with registration and attendance for Signature Events.
  • Engages community partners in event delivery and execution.
  • Oversees and manages internal and external vendor relations pertaining to events to include service contracts, invoices, and payment.
  • Overseas merchandise of all event related marketing materials.
  • Ensures that the budget for Signature events are tracked and managed.
  • Manage post event surveys to include analysis of data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Experience with Slate CRM preferred.
  • 5 years of higher education experience, preferably in admission or visitor services.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Superior written, verbal, and public speaking communication skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking, organization, problem solving, and time management skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
  • Organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities at all times.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively document policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility and willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours and extended days with the ability to juggle competing priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to and experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion especially as relevant to enrollment management research and analytics.

This is an on-campus position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community.
