Position Overview

The Associate Director of Admission for Visitor Services & Events is an integral part of the Welcome Center team and ensures the best possible visit experience for all Admission visitors which contributes to the success of the Division of Enrollment Management in reaching its enrollment goals.

The Associate Director of Admission for Visitor Services & Events works under the direction of the AVP of Enrollment Management and Visitor Services to carry out the visit strategy and vision designed to recruit, admit, and enroll an entering class that meets institutional goals along with keeping the visit experience on brand with the mission and vision of Merrimack College.

The Associate Director will be responsible for the operational and management aspects of the 16,000 square foot Arcidi Welcome Center. This includes managing the budget, inventory and facility needs, along with providing visit reports and statistical information to the AVP and campus partners.

The Associate Director will be a team player that upholds the highest standard of the institution. They will manage and lead the staff in carrying out their duties and responsibilities as well as develop and monitor processes for staff, including professional development and training to ensure events are carried out successfully and with high success rates. This position requires high attention to customer service, the ability to have an analytical and technical demeanor and the mindset to explore effective and more efficient ways to operate a successful Welcome Center. They must have a commitment to manage multiple tasks and establish priorities, along with the ability to work on a team, and collaborate with campus partners.

The Associate Director of Admission for Visitor Services & Events is responsible for the execution and creation of business processes (i.e. budget, inventory, customer service, schedules, staffing, etc.) as well as professional development, training and onboarding of Welcome Center staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides exemplary leadership in the supervision of the Welcome Center staff, responsible for the delivery of the best possible visit experience for all Admission visitors.

  • Manages and oversees all daily operations of the Welcome Center which includes managing the following:

    • Operational Budget

    • Inventory

    • Facility needs

    • Visit reports & Data

    • Master Event & Staff Calendar

    • Policies and Procedures

  • Encourage and mentor the staff in carrying out their duties ensuring a professional atmosphere and the completion of high tasks.

  • Uphold a high attention to customer service, the ability to have an analytical and technical demeanor and the mindset to explore effective and more efficient ways to operate a successful Welcome Center.

  • Strong commitment to manage multiple tasks and establish priorities, along with the ability to work on a team, and collaborate with campus partners and meet fast deadlines.

  • Build effective professional working relationships with campus partners, who are involved with supporting admission events. Manage stakeholders and drive those to make decisions to ensure timelines are met.

  • Collaborate with the AVP of Enrollment Management and Visitor Services with visit and event strategies, programming initiatives, event execution, and statistical and data reporting.

  • Manages and oversees event execution for on-campus, virtual and off campus recruitment and yield events. Ensure these events meet high standards, this would include all Signature Open Houses, Admitted Student Days and other events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, Masters preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license

Required Vaccinations:

Unless otherwise stated above, this is an on-campus position. This is not a remote or hybrid position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community.
