Studio 1

Studio 1 is the hub of our group fitness experience—an energizing space where community and movement come together. Designed to host our classes, Studio 1 features mirrored walls, lights, a  sound system and versatile equipment to support a wide range of workouts.

Designated Spin Studio 2

Get your heart pumping and ride to the beat in our state-of-the-art Spin Studio. Featuring elite stationary bikes, vibrant lighting and an immersive sound system, the studio delivers an electrifying atmosphere every session. Home to both Spin and Spin X strength classes!

Studio 3

Studio 3 is a flexible, open-use space designed for students to take charge of their own workouts. Featuring turf flooring, mirrors, small machines, jump boxes, mats and functional training tools, it’s the perfect spot for solo sessions or trying out your own fitness routine.

Looping above the gym floor, it’s perfect for warm-ups, cool-downs or full cardio sessions with a view. Whether you’re training for a race or mixing up your routine, the track provides a smooth, accessible option just steps from fitness studios and equipment.

Multi-Purpose Room (MPR)

The MPR is a spacious, adaptable area built to support a variety of recreational activities and events. With high ceilings and flexible setup options, the MPR hosts intramural sports like basketball, volleyball and pickleball, as well as open gym time, fitness pop-ups and special student-focused events.

Group Fitness Classes

Group fitness classes offer a fun, free way for students to stay active and connected. Led by certified student instructors, these 45-minute sessions welcome all fitness levels and include options like Mack45, Pilates, Strength Circuit, Restorative Yoga and high-energy Spin classes. 47 FITNESS CENTER

The 47 Fitness offers a convenient and accessible workout space right in the heart of the first-year quad. Whether you’re squeezing in a quick cardio session or lifting between classes, 47 Fitness is equipped with everything you need to stay consistent—including a range of cardio machines, strength training equipment and open floor space for your own routines.

COMING FALL 2026

NEW FITNESS CENTER

Get ready for the next evolution of fitness at Merrimack. Opening in Fall 2026, this brand-new facility will expand campus recreation with modern spaces, updated equipment and more room to move, train and connect. The new center will feature dedicated areas for strength and cardio, enhanced group fitness spaces and flexible workout zones to support all fitness levels.

Games take place four nights a week across four sessions—two in the fall and two in the spring. Sports vary each season based on student interest. It’s free to play – just sign up on IMLeagues. Options include:

Community has always been something that is really important to me, especially in a gym. Merrimack’s Fitness and Recreation is the perfect example of what a gym community can be. I love everything about the spaces from the all the different equipment, the 47 Fitness Center and all the workout classes they have to offer. It’s one of my favorite things on campus!
