Celebrating Different Faiths at Merrimack

The Center for Jewish-Christian-Muslim Relations will be hosting “Feast of Faiths,” its third annual dialogue dinner facilitated by students, on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. This dinner will be located in the Rogers Center for the Arts from 5:00-7:00pm, and is based around a discussion celebrating differences in faith and finding common ground within each other.

At the event, four students will be honored for their interfaith and intercultural work throughout their Merrimack College careers. The Center is proud to recognize: Anna Ndamba of Framingham, MA; Iqra Iftikha of Wakefield; Chelsea Comfort of Franklin;  and Neha Patel of Southborough.

A popular quote at the Center for Jewish-Christian-Muslim Relations is by St. Augustine: “There is no one in the human race to whom we do not owe love” (Letter 130:13),” and Augustine’s urging that in dialogue and debate we always, “audi alteram partem—listen to the other” (De Duabus Animabus XVI, ii).

All are welcome and encouraged to attend.  If interested, please RSVP to Pat Lynch at JCM@merrimack.edu or stop by the Center for Jewish-Christian-Muslim Relations in the Sakowich Campus Center.

The “Feast of Faiths” will be followed by “Where We Dwell Together: 11th Annual Interfaith Prayer: Offering Abrahamic Hospitality to all God’s Children” at 7:00 p.m. in Cascia Hall.  Featured during the prayer service is the Interfaith Harmonies of Mackapella.  This event is free and open to all.
