VPA Acting Instructor Rachael Longo stars in Burial at Thebes with Theatre KAPOW.

Acting instructor Rachael Longo is starring in a revival of Theatre KAPOW’s production of Burial at Thebes,  Seamus Heaney’s adaptation of Sophocles’s Antigone. The Burial at Thebes centers on the never resolved conflict between a person’s individual rights and the demands of the state. The timeless struggle for honor is called into question in the face of challenging authority: to whom does loyalty belong – to one’s family and cultural practices or to the law decreed by the state? The story is 2,500 years old, but one need only look to very recent events surrounding the burial of a domestic terrorist to find relevance.

Theater KAPOW, a NH based contemporary theater company,  explores the truths of human experience through the passion and electricity of live theatre performed to the highest standards of excellence. KAPOW produces the best dramatic works from across ages and cultures to inspire and challenge both artists and audience. This is the 4th time has  mounted this production critically acclaimed production.
