Dr. Elizabeth Sarkodie-Mensah works for women’s rights and democracy in Ghana

McQuade Librarian Elizabeth Sarkodie-Mensah is the leader of the Women’s Wing of the USA branch of the New Patriotic Party of Ghana.

Recently Elizabeth and the NPP-USA welcomed Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo to Columbus, Ohio to receive an award for her work and leadership in promoting the interests of women and children in Ghana. In her address, Mrs. Akufo-Addo spoke about the importance of women’s empowerment as the key to nation building and transformation.

Her husband, Nana Akufo-Addo, also attended the event to receive a lifetime achievement award. Mr. Akufo-Addo is the 2016 Presidential candidate of the NPP.
