The Merrimack student coaches, who are participating in the program through a 4-credit internship, learn the financial and mentoring skills necessary to provide financial coaching. The coaches and clients work together throughout the semester at workshops and in one-on-one coaching sessions to help the clients identify and work to achieve self-selected financial goals.
At the graduation ceremony, clients who made successful progress toward achieving their goals were awarded a financial incentive to help fund it.
The coaching program is made possible through the partnership of the Financial Capability Center on the Merrimack campus and ACT Lawrence, located in Lawrence, MA.
