Board of Trustees Welcomes Four New Members

Four highly accomplished business executives, three of whom are alumni, have joined the college's board of trustees, increasing its ranks to 25, President Christopher Hopey announced.

Bruce A. Bouchard ’79, Alvin M. Chapital III ’86, Kevin R. Rhodes ’91 and Marques D. Torbert will bring to the board a depth and breadth of experience that will prove invaluable during Merrimack’s pivotal period of growth, Hopey said.

“I very much look forward to using their experience and informed perspectives on matters most important to this institution,” he said.

Bouchard is co-founder and managing partner of Pleasanton Pharma Ventures, a California-based private equity fund that invests primarily in the life sciences industry. He holds a B.S. in business administration, with a concentration in accounting, from Merrimack, and an M.B.A. from Bentley University.

Chapital is a global-marketing and management professional with more than 20 years of B2B and B2C experience in strategic marketing, brand building and sales growth in the health-care, professional-services and consumer-goods industries for Fortune 500 companies. He received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Merrimack and an M.B.A. from Suffolk University.

Rhodes is executive vice president and chief financial officer at Brightcove, a leading global provider of powerful cloud solutions for delivering and monetizing video across connected devices. He holds a B.S. in business administration, with a concentration in accounting and finance, from Merrimack, and an M.B.A. with highest honors from the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College.
