Merrimack Recognized as Bloomberg Certified Experiential Learning Partner

Merrimack College was recently designated a Bloomberg Certified Experiential Learning Partner (ELP) – a recognition that highlights the leadership role of the Girard School of Business in business education.

In order to qualify for this designation a college must have at least three Bloomberg terminals, and at least 100 students annually who achieve the Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certification. Merrimack well exceeded the qualifications for the partnership designation with 19 Bloomberg terminals in the Mucci Capital Markets Lab which is housed in the Girard School of Business, located in the recently constructed Crowe Hall. To become certified on the Bloomberg terminals, students must complete a ten-hour tutorial and pass four tests - 250 Merrimack students earned BMC certification in 2017-18.

Partner institutions must also use Bloomberg in various courses to show their continued commitment to experiential learning.  Mary Papazian, managing director of the Mucci Capital Markets Lab and finance professor, integrates Bloomberg into all her courses and requires BMC certification in each class.  Other faculty members in finance, strategy, and introductory business courses also incorporate the use of Bloomberg terminals in their classes.
