Merrimack College Welcomes Three New Members to the Board of Trustees

Merrimack College is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Trustees. Kevin Routhier, Founder and CEO of Coretelligent; Stacey Dion, Managing Director and Head of Global Government Affairs, The Carlyle Group; and Peter Caulo, Trader, Fidelity Asset Management.

“I am excited to welcome Kevin, Stacey and Peter to our Board,” said President Christopher E. Hopey, Ph.D., “The addition of these new members brings diverse and relevant expertise to Merrimack College, as well as a genuine passion for the College and its students. The leadership they have shown in their respective fields will be of great value to Merrimack College as it enters the next phase of its strategic plan aimed at providing the best possible experience for our students.”

About the New Board Members:

Kevin Routhier ’99, Coretelligent

As Founder and CEO of Coretelligent, Kevin leads the charge at the intersection of business, technology and finance. Kevin founded Coretelligent in 2006 to help clients effectively maximize their IT investments. As CEO, he leads the strategic development and implementation of practical IT solutions and manages a team of experts who serve as trusted advisors to their clients.

Prior to founding Coretelligent, Mr. Routhier held senior positions with a number of companies including CMGi, iPhrase Technologies and IBM. He focused on the design and implementation of highly efficient IT infrastructure and solutions, while addressing diverse business needs across a broad user base.

Kevin was named a Boston Business Journal 40 Under 40 leader in 2013. Under his leadership, Coretelligent has earned numerous accolades, including the Boston Business Journal’s “Fast 50” five years running and Inc. 5000 fastest-growing company for eight consecutive years. Coretelligent is perennially recognized for the excellence in the MSP sector by MSPmentor and CRN.

Committed to improving the lives of children, Kevin serves on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts.

Mr. Routhier earned a BSBA in business administration and computer science in 1999.

Stacey Dion ’98, The Carlyle Group

Stacey serves as a Managing Director and Head of Global Government Affairs where she leads Carlyle’s global government relations and public policy functions, collaborating with Carlyle senior executives and investment professionals to shape Carlyle’s global legislative and regulatory activities.

Ms. Dion joined Carlyle in 2017 as a Managing Director, focusing on U.S. government regulatory and legislative matters. Prior to joining Carlyle, Ms. Dion served as Vice President of Corporate Public Policy for The Boeing Company, where she was responsible for developing and implementing the government relations strategy and tactics on corporate issues including tax, benefits, financial services, corporate governance, energy, environment, workforce training and education.

In her career in government, Ms. Dion was Policy Advisor and Counsel in the Office of the Republican Leader, where she served as lead Republican staff for negotiating and drafting the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 on behalf of the House Republican Leader Boehner. Prior to that, she served as Tax and Pension Policy Advisor in the Office of the Majority Leader and was responsible for drafting the Pension Protection Act of 2006 and managing the Tax Increase Prevention and Reconciliation Act of 2005. From 2002 to 2003, Ms. Dion worked in the Employee Benefits Security Administration in the U.S. Department of Labor, where she developed final regulations, rulings and advisory opinions on ERISA. Ms. Dion began her career in a Washington, DC law firm.

Ms. Dion earned her BA from Merrimack College in 1998 and JD from The Catholic University of America.

Peter Caulo ’83, Fidelity Asset Management

Peter Caulo is a trader in the Fixed Income division at Fidelity Investments. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.

In this role, Mr. Caulo is responsible for executing trades for the municipal money market funds.

Prior to joining Fidelity in 2003, Mr. Caulo worked as an institutional sales person for Municipal Money Markets in the Investment Management division at Goldman Sachs. Previously, he worked at Lehman Brothers as an associate in the tax-advantaged area, which included municipal money markets, and preferred stock and auction rate securities. He has been in the financial industry since 1983.

Mr. Caulo earned his bachelor of arts degree in economics from Merrimack College in 1983.
