Jackie LaRivee

Senior music minor Jackie LaRivee recently wrote and published an academic research paper titled “An Entity of Power: Hildegard Von Bingen and the Female Body” on Merrimack’s ScholarWorks, the scholarly repository of the McQuade Library. The paper examines aspects of female empowerment by exploring the influence of the female voice in music.

LaRivee’s paper was written for Dr. Laura Pruett’s Music History I class in the Fall 2020 semester, and has already been downloaded dozens of times from the ScholarWorks website. LaRivee is also submitting this paper for consideration by additional undergraduate research journals. In addition, she is preparing vocal music for her senior recital, which will be held virtually this spring; her incredible combination of vocal talent and scholarly intellect has made her time at Merrimack truly spectacular.
