Erin Hetzel

  • Mental Health Clinician, The Counseling Center

I am a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and earned an M.Ed. from UMass Amherst, where I was a graduate assistant in the athletics department. This was my first opportunity to work with college students, and I have never looked back.

After many years in collegiate athletics, I wanted to elevate my work with students in a more connective, therapeutic capacity. In 2009, I earned an M.S.W. from Salem State College with the intention of working in a college counseling center.

I worked at Clark University in Worcester prior to coming to Merrimack in April 2013. Clinical interests include anxiety; body image; eating issues; adjustment and life transitions; self-esteem; and sport psychology.
