Russell Olwell was appointed associate dean and professor in the School of Education and Social Policy in November 2016. He has written two books, “At Work in the Atomic City” (University of Tennessee Press, 2008) and “Mentoring Is a Verb: Strategies for Improving College and Career Readiness” (Routledge, 2016). 

Olwell has developed projects in curriculum development, college access, community development and STEM education, and his work has been funded by federal and state agencies, corporations and foundations.
