Keohan’s journalism background started as a student at Merrimack as sports editor of the college newspaper, expanding as a junior and senior to what today would be the post of sports information director, something he did for 13 of the 16 years from 1951 to 1967.
Thereafter, his journalism widened from sports to community journalism for his hometown paper, the Wakefield Daily Item. Since 1968, he has prepared the newspaper’s “Looking Backward” column, which appears Monday through Friday.
