Stephanie Garrone-Shufran, Ph.D.

Prior to joining Merrimack College, Stephanie Garrone-Shufran was an adjunct professor at Lesley University and the pre-practicum/practicum coordinator at Cambridge College. Previous to beginning her career in higher education, she taught in a middle school sheltered English program. Garrone-Shufran’s teaching interests include sheltered instruction, linguistics for teachers and teaching literacy to English learners. Her research is focused on the preparation of teachers to teach language across the curriculum and the impact of teacher candidates’ field
experiences on their practices and beliefs regarding English learners.
