Director, Office of the Provost
Liz Otto joined the office in summer of 2017. She provides executive management and support to the Provost. Her duties include managing the budget and budget oversight, communications, and all duties in support of accountability. Liz monitors and maintains faculty records ensuring that annual evaluations, sabbaticals, leave of absences, tenure cases, and other correspondences are conducted according to college policies. She attends senior level meetings, including the Board of Trustees. She helps maintain office work-flow under signatory guidelines and authority established by the Provost and works closely with the Executive Assistant in planning and coordinating all Provost Office events.
Prior to her appointment in the Office of the Provost, Liz has served Merrimack College since 1997. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Microscale Chemistry Center then in the Departments of Sociology, Criminology and History. She spent seven years in the Office of the Dean of Liberal Arts as the Senior Administrator.
Otto holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Merrimack College. Prior to working for Merrimack College she worked for Gould, Modicon Division and for many years as a Real Estate Professional.
