Why did you choose to pursue a Masters degree at Merrimack?
Although my undergraduate degree is in Finance, I found my management courses very interesting. Then, while working in sales management at Siemens I realized that in order to advance my career I would need additional management skills. An MSM seemed like a great way to develop the communication, teamwork and leadership skills I would need to be successful.
How would you describe your academic experience at Merrimack?
One of the most attractive things about the program was the small class size – it allowed everyone the opportunity to share opinions and the professors could really track the progress of every student. I also liked that most of my classmates had jobs and work experiences they shared in class. Since I was a full-time student, I appreciated learning about how they were applying what we were learning in their various workplaces.
What advice do you have for other students considering Merrimack's Masters program?
The most significant advice I have is to communicate with your professors, advisors, and classmates and take advantage of the resources available. The Career Services were particularly helpful for interviewing and resume prep and the International Student office was also very helpful. There were lots of people at Merrimack who could give suggestions about your study and work; everyone was friendly and willing to help.
