Office of Residence Life
Joan is the Area Coordinator of O’Brien Hall, St. Ann and St. Thomas Apartments, and the Merrimack College Apartments at Royal Crest. Her primary responsibilities include supervising two Resident Advisor staffs, managing programs within the two areas, overseeing the facilities issues, maintaining a safe and healthy living environment, and serving as a hearing officer for conduct cases. Joan enjoys working as a Resident Director because she is able to work with her Resident Advisors as they develop as mentors for their residents. Joan also appreciates how she is able to have meaningful conversations and help residents throughout their years at Merrimack. In her spare time she enjoys trying new restaurants, running 5K races, watching movies, and spending time with loved ones.
Prior to working at Merrimack College, Joan earned her Master’s of Art at Boston College while working as the Graduate Assistant in the Office of Health Promotion, the Graduate Intern for the Emerging Leader Program, and Graduate Staff Assistant in the Office of Residential Life all at Boston College. Joan also earned her Master’s of Science in Management from Merrimack College in 2017.
Joan is a member of NASPA and has served as an intern on the NASPA Region I Conference Committee. Joan served on the Professional Development Chair Member on the Boston Area College Housing Association (BACHA) Board from 2015 to 2017.
