As director of placement & field based experiences, Maureen is responsible for working with students enrolled in Merrimack College’s teacher education licensure programs across all the delivery models. Providing support and guidance for each aspiring teacher who plans to seek Massachusetts licensure as a public school teacher. These programs of study include field based experiences (pre-practicums and practicum) opportunities that allow for a bridging of theory and practice.

In her role, she provides guidance and direction for completing the Massachusetts teacher tests (MTEL) requirement, coordinator of MTEL workshops and helping students satisfactorily complete the state requirements of an approved teacher licensure program, to support students seeking a license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE).

Prior to Merrimack College, Maureen worked for ESE as a program specialist in the offices of Educator Preparation and Leadership & Career/Technical Education for fourteen years. Other work experience includes twenty five years teaching at local community colleges and private colleges in Boston. Earlier career positions included management roles within the hospitality industry.
