Profile

As director of undergraduate student support, Matthew Hitchcock aids incoming students with acclimation and advisement and provides writing and study support to the school’s student body.

Hitchcock has taught literature courses approaching the question of genre through various theoretical disciplines and lenses. He has presented papers on reading wordless texts, accountability of authorship in regard to textual and visual representation, and deconstructed theories of the first-person pronoun.

His research interests range from composition and literary theory, to theories of performativity, visual rhetoric and meaning-making.
