  • Promotion of Physical Activity

My research focuses on evaluation of cardiovascular risk factors, including environmental factors, obesity, reduced physical activity and excess stress, and what types of interventions or changes in the environment may increase physical activity. I am also interested in how the presence of these risk factors influences a person’s risk of injury, disease and disability. Recent research projects include evaluating the benefits of free fitness and exercise apps and anticipated influence on behavior, and comparing heart rate and caloric expenditure using different kinds of smart watches.
