Deputy Chief, Merrimack College Police Department
Deputy Chief Elaine Gill has been a member of the Merrimack College Police Department since 2012. Prior to joining MCPD, Elaine was with the Massachusetts State Police for 27 years. At the time of her retirement she was the Commander of the Essex County District Attorney’s State Police Investigative Unit, and specialized in the investigation of homicides, sexual assault, and child abuse.
Elaine is a certified sexual assault investigator and continues to train other members of campus law enforcement in the areas of sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking investigation. She oversees MCPD investigations involving sexual assault, dating violence, and other interpersonal violations, while working closely with the Merrimack College Title IX Coordinator and the Office of Community Standards as a Title IX investigator.
Elaine received her bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and her Master’s Degree from Western New England University. She is also a 1992 graduate of the F.B.I National Academy.
More than 50 law enforcement personnel from across Massachusetts were on campus during the week of March 6 to participate in active threat training in Sullivan Hall.
