Biography

Administrative Lieutenant Jim Chase joined the Merrimack College Police Department in 2017.

Jim Chase retired with 20 years of service from the Salem, NH Police Department, where he served as the Deputy Chief of Police. During his career he was in charge of the Investigative Services Unit for several years and has extensive training and experience in criminal investigations.

Lieutenant Chase is in charge of the MCPD’s training program and also serves as the Hiring Manager for the Department. He also is part of the Department’s Accreditation Team. He is a trained assessor with the MA Police Accreditation Commission. Lt. Chase is also a Certified Sexual Assault Investigator.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Saint Joseph’s College, Maine with a minor in Psychology. He also has successfully completed the FBI Leadership Trilogy Program; Command Institute, Supervisor Leadership and Executive Leadership.
