Employment Law + Labor Relations

Formerly: MGT3320 This course will introduce students to the historical and cultural development of the legal, ethical and regulatory environment of modern business as it relates to the employment relationship. Topics will include common law rules governing the relationships of employer-employee, principal-agent and employer-independent contractor. An examination of important statutory rules shall include the Occupational Safety and Health Act, National Labor Relations Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act together with its progeny the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Equal Pay Act. Prerequisite(s): MGT 1100 and at least Sophomore standing
