Biography

Jeffrey A. Doggett joined Merrimack College in 2011 as chief of staff in the president’s office, with responsibility for local, state and federal government relations, assisting the president with the board of trustees, and managing the college’s work with various national, state and local trade associations.

He was elevated to senior vice president and chief of staff and then to executive vice president and chief of staff in 2016. 

Previous to Merrimack, Doggett successfully managed the re-election campaign of U.S. Rep. John Tierney, D.-Mass. From 2000 to 2010, he worked in the Office of Government Relations and Community Affairs at Northeastern University, first as associate director (2000-04), then as director (2004-09) and finally as vice president (2009-10).

Doggett holds a bachelor’s degree, Master of Public Administration and Executive Master of Business Administration, all from Northeastern University, and is pursuing a Doctor of Education in higher education management at the University of Pennsylvania.
