Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad Fellowship Program: The Department of Education has announced this opportunity “for faculty members seeking to improve their area studies and foreign language skills by conducting research abroad.” Submissions are due March 10, 2025 and the full funding announcement can be found here

(Early Investigators) R21 Small Grants for New Investigators to Broaden Participation in Health-Related Research: NIH has announced this opportunity for biomedical, clinical, and behavioral and social sciences research that is pertinent to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), or the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB). Multiple submission deadlines are listed up to October 2027 and the full funding announcement can be accessed here

(Early Investigators) R21 Trailblazer Award for New and Early Stage Investigators: NIH has announced this opportunity for a broad variety of research projects that incorporate physical sciences and engineering into biomedical or other life sciences. The agency states that it will accept for consideration research that is “exploratory, developmental, proof-of-concept, or high risk–high impact.” Multiple submission deadlines are listed up to October 2025 and the full funding announcement can be accessed here

(Social Sciences) Research and Evaluation on Corrections: The Department of Justice (DOJ) National Institute of Justice (NIJ) has announced this opportunity for research related to the correctional workforce and well-being in a correctional environment. Submissions are due April 15, 2025 and the full funding announcement can be accessed here.  

(Social Sciences) Research on the Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation of Older Adults: The Department of Justice (DOJ) National Institute of Justice (NIJ) has announced this opportunity for research related to elder abuse that is emotional, physical, or financial in nature. The agency will accept for consideration research that is preventative, informative, forensic, responsive, or intervention-focused. Submissions are due March 24, 2025 and the full funding announcement can be accessed here.

(STEM) Navy STEM Education and Workforce Program: The Department of Defense (DOD) has announced this opportunity for educational programs and activities “primarily focused on physical and natural sciences, technology, engineering, social sciences, and mathematics disciplines,” all of which are of particular interest to the U.S. Navy. Submissions are due August 29, 2025 and the full funding announcement can be accessed here.

(STEM) Findable Accessible Interoperable Reusable Open Science (FAIROS): NSF has announced this opportunity for open science activities that drive improvement in research data management and for new relevant research, education, socio-technical cyberinfrastructure development, publications, and communication models, with a focus on improving efficiency and accessibility. Submissions are due in April 2025, and the full funding announcement can be accessed here.
