Counseling and Health Services

Counseling Services

The counseling staff consists of a licensed psychologist and two licensed mental health counselors. Students access the counseling service by calling or dropping by the office to make an appointment. Counseling services are confidential and include crisis intervention, short-term counseling, consultation, assessment and referral. After hours crisis phone counseling is also available for students by contacting Police Services and asking to speak to the counselor on call.

Counselor-On-Call: Business Hours

During business hours when Hamel Health is open, a counselor-on-call is available for crisis intervention or consultation by calling the main number x5441. When you call,  you will be asked if you would like to speak with the counselor-on-call immediately, receive a call back within 2 hours, or receive a call back before the end of the day. Students in crisis may also be seen by walking into the Center and asking to be seen by the counselor-on-call.

Counselor-On-Call: After Hours

After hours, on weekends and holidays, the counselor-on-call is accessible to the community by speaking with a Residence Life Professional Staff member or by calling Police Services at x5911.
