Members of the Merrimack Financial Group attend meeting at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

The trip to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston provided unique insights into the global economy and an opportunity to network with finance insiders.

Earlier this semester, students from the Merrimack Financial Group were invited, through the New England Association for Finance Professionals (NEAFP), to attend a meeting at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Accompanied by Professor Mary Papazian, Merrimack sent the only students to the meeting. They joined professionals in all areas of finance from companies such as PNC Bank, TD Bank, Wells Fargo, Webster Bank, and Fidelity Investments. The meeting concentrated on the global economic outlook and and focused mainly on China, oil, and interest rates for the remainder of 2016.

After the meeting, Merrimack students got a chance to network with the professionals who also attended the event. “We do a lot in the financial group in terms of networking events but this was such an enlightening experience to really understand the bigger picture of our global economy as well as network with professionals in the industry.” said T.J. Antonetti, a Junior finance student in the Girard School of Business.
