Jane D. Parent is an assistant professor in the Department of Management at Merrimack College. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany, an M.B.A. from the University of Southern Maine, and a Ph.D. in Organization Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Dr. Parent has several years of industry experience in the fields of cost analysis, marketing, and finance working for such companies as Grumman Aerospace (currently Northrop-Grumman), United Technologies, National Semiconductor, and Siemens, AG. She is the author of articles published in the Journal of Management, and Gender, Race, and Ethnicity in the Workplace. She is a member of the National Academy of Management and the Organizational Behavior Teaching Society. She is currently doing research in the area of adaptation to organization changes, perceptual incongruence between management and employees, and experiential learning initiatives in the classroom.
