2015 AIS Conference

2015 AIS Conference

“Impact for the Common Good?”

October 22-25, 2015

Hosted by Merrimack College

The School of Education & Social Policy is proud to host the 37th Annual Meeting of the Association for Interdisciplinary Studies.  Merrimack College is located in North Andover, MA, a quaint New England suburb approximately 25 miles north of Boston. Andover has a charming New England style downtown, with a plethora of restaurants, coffee shops, and locally owned stores.

We are planning an engaging and stimulating conference. You will fly into Boston Logan International Airport, take a shuttle or drive to North Andover, and stay at one of two hotels within a few miles from campus.

The theme of the 2015 AIS conference, “Impact for the Common Good?”, is addressed as a question to provoke thinking about how impact is defined and measured, and who is included in the conception of the “Common Good.” We invite members of the academy, practitioners, and members of the community to participate in dialogue and exchange ideas about how interdisciplinary studies can play a pivotal role in advancing and expanding notions of the Common Good, and also to highlight interdisciplinary partnerships between the academy and community that can serve as models for change.
