Tolle Lege

Tolle Lege at Merrimack

When St. Augustine heard the words Tolle Lege (“Take up and read”), he heard it as a divine call to knowledge. For more than two decades, this tradition has proudly brought together Merrimack faculty, staff, alumni and community members to celebrate scholarship and honor the vibrant academic culture of Merrimack College.

Sponsored by the Office of the Provost and McQuade Library, Merrimack’s annual Tolle Lege event celebrates and honors Merrimack’s authors.

Faculty Research Awards

Research faculty plays a critical role in advancing Merrimack’s mission. To celebrate their contributions, the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs has established three awards to recognize research excellence among faculty from across Merrimack’s six schools for their significant contributions to their fields and research development at Merrimack. The awards are the Outstanding Research Mentorship Award, the Spirit of Discovery Award, and the Early Career Researcher Award.

  • Outstanding Research Mentorship Award: Given to faculty who represent excellence in research mentorship of junior faculty, postdocs and students.
  • Spirit of Discovery Award: Given to faculty with research that impacts their field and gives Merrimack students significant research opportunities.
  • Early Career Researcher Award: Given to a faculty member in their first three years at Merrimack, who has shown dedication, promise and productivity in their research field.
