Theoretical Physicist Lisa Randall at the Writers House, Thursday, April 14, 4pm

The Writers House welcomes theoretical Physicist Lisa Randall to campus as an opportunity to speak with Merrimack students and staff. The lecture is on Thursday, April 14 at 4pm.

Randall studies theoretical particle physics and cosmology at Harvard University, where she is Frank B. Baird, Jr., Professor of Science. Randall’s research has made significant contributions to the study of particle physics, supersymmetry, and cosmology, transforming the way physicists think about the underlying structure of space. 

A member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Philosophical Society, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Randall is the recipient of many awards and honorary degrees.

Professor Randall was included in Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People” of 2007 and was among Esquire magazine’s “75 Most Influential People of the 21st Century.” Her books include Dark Matter and the DinosaursWarped PassagesKnocking on Heaven’s Door and Higgs Discovery: The Power of Empty Space.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A, book signing, and reception. All are welcome.
