James Howland

Mental Health Clinician

Jim was born and raised on Boston’s North Shore. He received his B.A. in Psychology from Saint Michael’s College and his MSW and doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston University. Jim was a student-athlete at St. Michael’s and his Ed.D. is specialized in Sport Psychology. Jim has worked for over 20 years as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, with a strength-based, motivational, and cognitive-behavioral approach. He has training in mindfulness-based stress reduction and is certified as a Green Dot Bystander Intervention Facilitator. Jim’s clinical interests include helping students who are dealing with anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and men’s mental health issues.
