We are excited to welcome you to Merrimack! Our Orientation program is for all new first-year and transfer students and is a major step in getting ready for your time at Merrimack. It is typically offered in January, June and August.
Orientation is mandatory for all new undergraduate students. Register below or through your MackTasks found in your portal. Questions? Email us at [email protected]!

There are no costs for students and families attending Orientation sessions.
Accommodations are available by contacting the Office of Accessibility Services.

Orientation schedules will be on this website a week before each session. For single-day sessions, students will be in sessions from around 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For overnight sessions, students will check in around 9 a.m., be busy through the day and evening, stay overnight in Merrimack housing and have programming the second day from about 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Family members who attend will have separate programming on the first day from around 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are unable to provide overnight accommodations for family members, but can recommend hotels within a short drive of campus. On-campus parking is available for students and parents for both single-day and overnight sessions.
If you can not attend any of the sessions, please complete this form so we can follow up with you!
Adjustments are different for everyone, especially in college and especially as a transfer student. Merrimack has many support systems to help you adjust to your new lifestyle. Some of the support systems include Hamel Health, The Counseling Center, the Academic Success Center, and Resident and Commuter Advisors.
Getting to know your peers and the orientation staff is a great way to start connecting with different student organizations and clubs! The Office of Student Involvement also holds an involvement fair during the first couple weeks of the semester which is a great place to learn about what Merrimack has to offer.
Merrimack College prides itself on not being a suitcase school. Most students stay at Merrimack through the weekends and the Office of Student Involvement runs at least one program every weekend.
All commuter students are guaranteed on-campus parking. The Student Vehicle Registration Form is in MyMack> Quick Links. Resident students are welcome to complete the Student Vehicle Registration Application. However, parking spaces are not guaranteed and will be prioritized based on class year, students with approved accommodations from the Accessibility Services Office, and students with confirmed off-campus experiential-education placements. As a general rule, freshmen and sophomore resident students should not expect to have a vehicle on campus, and opportunities for juniors will be limited.
You will receive your MackCard when you arrive on campus for Fall Orientation.
Please ensure your score reports or official transcripts with final grades are submitted electronically to Merrimack College by emailing [email protected]. More information about the transfer credit awarding process can be found on our Transfer Credit page. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].
