The MA Guarantee is a transfer partnership between MA community colleges and participating four-year colleges and universities. Eligible community college graduates can transfer seamlessly — admission is guaranteed! All four-year academic programs are eligible except Construction Management, Information Technology and Nursing.
Merrimack College has been named to the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Transfer Honor Roll every year since 2020, and we recognize the achievement of PTK students. Starting in Spring 2026, PTK members qualify for Direct Admission into all full-time undergraduate in-person programs, excluding Nursing and Architecture/Architectural Studies.

Despite any common misconceptions you may have heard, transferring colleges is more common than you think! It’s okay to change your mind and important to remember everyone has their own unique path to the finish line.
Fact: You only have to complete 25% of the total credits required to graduate at Merrimack. Meaning, the other 75% can be transferred in from your prior institution! Use our transfer equivalency site to see how your credits may transfer to Merrimack.
Fact: You are not alone and you are not starting over! At Merrimack, we work with you one-on-one to transfer your previous course work over to us. We’ll connect you with support services and other incoming transfer students and get you acclimated to Merrimack!
Fact: All undergraduate students go through the same review process to receive merit scholarships and financial aid — regardless of whether they’re a transfer student or freshman.
Fact: Our Transfer Admission team and academic advisors work with students to formulate an individualized graduation pathway following the transfer credit evaluation. Most transfer students graduate “on-time” — AKA, their expected timeline.
