Massachusetts Community College Students

In accordance with the Massachusetts Guarantee, Merrimack College offers qualified graduates of Massachusetts Community Colleges guaranteed admission to the academic programs listed below.

Massachusetts Independent College Transfer Guarantee

The MA Guarantee is a transfer partnership between MA community colleges and participating four-year colleges and universities. Eligible community college graduates are able to transfer seamlessly – admission is guaranteed!

All 4-year Academic programs are eligible with the exception of  Construction Management, Information Technology and Nursing. 

Requirements

1. Complete an associate’s degree program at a Massachusetts community college and apply to transfer to a related course of study at Merrimack College
2. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and be in good standing.

General Education Foundation

Completion of the General Education Foundation as part of an eligible Associates degree program will satisfy the Merrimack College Liberal Studies core curriculum with the exception of the Religious and Theological Studies requirement.

Articulation Agreements

Articulation agreements outline how a specific academic program at a specific institution transfers into a particular major at Merrimack College. 

Northern Essex Community College

Merrimack College and Northern Essex Community College (NECC) have the following articulation agreement:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering/A.S. Engineering Science

Please note: Merrimack College also has an articulation agreement with Boston College. This agreement is for current Merrimack College students and not for community college students transferring into Merrimack.
