Finance

Finance industries are becoming more complex and therefore, face unstructured problems to solve. This reality requires students who want to succeed in a finance field to acquire strong analytical and creative skills.

Merrimack College’s Finance Department offers a wide range of courses within the investment, corporate, banking, and insurance and real-estate areas. Students can also take a Seminar in Special Topics course which offers a number of courses within the contemporary world of finance. Such topics are advanced corporate finance, investment management, real estate, and personal financial services and planning.

Assistant Professor Dr. Ana C Silva obtained her Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the University of Houston and her M.B.A from the Madrid Business School. Her research has focused on market microstructure, emerging markets, and corporate governance.
