Sergeant, Merrimack College Police Department
Sergeant Tanya Merten has an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Middlesex Community College and graduated from the SSPO Academy. She worked as an Auxiliary Police Officer in Wilmington prior to employment at Merrimack College.
Tanya is one of the Department’s certified R.A.D. Instructors, a Field Training Officer, the Department Quartermaster, a Sexual Assault Investigator, and a backup handler for Merri, the school’s comfort dog. Tanya began working as an On-Call Officer in 2002 and began working full-time in 2006. She is currently the Day Shift Sergeant.
